One of the core values we live by is that we actually care and that has never been more important than right now.
This isn’t a gimmick or a fluffy phrase our marketing department came up with to make us sound good. It is built into who we are and how we work. If you don’t believe us, here are some of the ways we are putting our money where our mouth is.
Our workforce are like a family and we recognise the past 12 months have been tough. You would find it difficult to find anyone who hasn’t been affected by what has been going on. After all the world turned on its head.We have always been flexible in allowing employees to choose how they work best. Fitting around family or life commitments. Our winning formula for years has been: If the job is getting done, we don’t mind how. The pandemic has added stress to everyone's work and home lives, and we have needed to be even more adaptable.
To support our employees further we encouraged them to get out in the fresh air, whenever they needed. Being outside never hurts and taking care of ourselves is vital right now.
Let’s face it, we have been home for a long time. Our annual holidays, city breaks, festivals, long weekends have been all but impossible. To try and make up for this, we are giving our employees extra holiday days for when the world is a little more normal. We realise that we have all missed out on a lot of experiences and it’s the right thing to do. Who would disagree that we all need a break?
These are some of the more recent ways we have shown we actually care, but we have always worked this way.
As a conscious consumer goods business we want to leave the world in a better state for the future. That is something we continue to stand by. We are experts in responsibly sourced products. We know the damage that can be done when the wrong choices are made. That is not only on the environment, but also to the people who make the products.
We have never seen it as a bad thing or something that isn’t crucial to business. To care about the impact we make and the people we work with is so important. This is not about 'ticking the social corporate responsibility box' - it is what makes us sustainable.
